Hunting the Northern Lights
Hunting the Northern Light gives you an amazing nature experience in Lofoten Winter wonderland
After a short boat ride into the Reinefjord we will go for a hike in the magical landscape. After a slight increase up to Einangen, one of the world’s most beautiful beaches appear to the north and the lights from Reine appears in the south. We have a perfect location to catch the northern lights over the mountain peaks that surround us.
Guide and boat driver will meet you at our office where flotation suits and rescue equipment are dealt and passenger list signed. Our boat drivers have all the necessary certificates and are very familiar with waters and conditions in the area. The boats are equipped with life-saving equipment according to applicable regulations.
We go by boat from Reine to Vinstad. From Vinstad we walk on a gravel path along the Bunes fjord before starting on a short incline to Einangen. This trip takes about 40 minutes. The view to the north from Einanagen over Bunesstranda is beautiful even in the darkness of the night. In the south, we can see the lights from Reine. There will be plenty of time for hiking and photography from Einangen before going back the same way to boat waiting at the pier in Vinstad. The trip takes about 3 hours and is suitable for most people.
