A Family-Oriented, Quality-Focused Outdoor Activity Company

Aqua Lofoten Coast Adventure was established in 2009, when Aqua Lofoten diving center, run by Therese Amalie Holtan Larsen, and Coast Adventure, run by Lars-Åge Larsen, merged.

Lars and Therese have both offered outdoor activities in the seas around Lofoten since 2006. They both have a lot of experience with the conditions that can arise in this weather-beaten archipelago in the north of Norway. They also have great local knowledge of wildlife, history, and culture, which they happily share with their guests.

Lars-Åge Larsen

Lars is a true “Lofotværing” – a native Lofoten resident. He was born and raised in a small, remote area called Borgvåg, but moved west in Lofoten as an adult. Lars started his career as a fisherman in Finnmark, and later became both a buyer and an operations manager in fish farming. Before he settled down with Therese and moved to Reine, he also had many years of experience as an operations manager in the tourism industry. Lars is our resident handyman, but given his training as a coastal skipper, his main task these days is to drive the fishing boat Trio II.

Therese Amalie Holtan Larsen

Therese was born and raised on Nøtterøy in the Oslofjord. Therese is a trained accountant with a degree from BI Norwegian Business School in Sandvika, an education that comes in handy when it comes to the administration of this family business. Therese is also a D5L skipper and certified guide in the Refsvika cave. Therese is our main skipper on the RIB trips. Therese received Nordland County Municipality’s newcomer award in 2008 for starting the business in Lofoten.

Our RIB Boats

Our three RIB boats (Alca, Traz, and Orca) have seating for 12 passengers and plenty of space for luggage. The boats are 35-feet-long and each have two 300 horsepower engines. By using RIBs for our trips, we’re able to get close to land and closer to the wildlife, while the boat is seaworthy and stable in the water.
