Easygoing Holidays
Guided Holidays with Laid-Back Nature Experiences
Tour combinations that are ideal for those who want to experience magnificent natural surroundings but prefer easygoing walks to physically strenuous trips.
Summer
4 nights / 3 days of easygoing, guided nature experiences
Fishing Trip
During the fishing trip, you’ll learn how to use a “juksahjulet”, a type of traditional fishing equipment in Lofoten. If you would like to try to catch some fish yourself, you’ll work at the fishing stations in pairs. This will allow everyone plenty of time to relax and enjoy the views of the Lofoten mountains while enjoying a coffee or tea. The skipper will handle the gutting of the fish before handing it off to you so that you can prepare a great meal after the trip.
RIB Tour
During the maelstrom and bird safari tour, you’ll stay on the boat for the duration of the trip. The tour’s route and speed will be adapted to the guests onboard, but our destination will the bird colonies in the maelstrom where the gannets nest.
RIB and Walk
Bunesstranda is a beautiful beach on the north side of Moskenesøya island, a place known as Yttersia. This tour combines a short boat trip on the Reinefjord with an easygoing walk along a gravel road and up to Einangen hill, where you’ll get great views of Bunesstranda. Those who are interested can continue walking all the way down to the beach, while others can simply enjoy the views from the many vantage points on Einangen hill.
Winter
3 nights / 2 days with fishing and sightseeing
Fishing Trip
During the fishing trip you will learn how to use Lofoten’s traditional fishing equipment known as the “juksahjulet” and will actively participate in fishing. You will work at the fishing stations in pairs, but the skipper will take care of gutting the fish you catch. You will of course be able to take the fish you catch so that you can prepare a meal together after the trip. The experience of fishing in Lofoten during the winter is truly something out of the ordinary. You will experience “the authentic Lofoten” during the high season for the region’s local fishermen. Lofoten’s mountain peaks are usually covered in snow during this time of year, which adds to the special experience.
Sightseeing in the Reinefjord
Starting in Reine, join our local guide and skipper on a spectacular journey deep into the Reinefjord’s remote arms. During the tour you’ll hear historical stories about the small villages that dot the fjords’ coastlines and get exciting insight into how life unfolded when the remote, and now partially abandoned, ‘fiskevær’ fishing villages were still active settlements.
Accommodation
We recommend staying at Lofoten Bed & Breakfast in Reine. Choosing this option will mean that you’ll be in contact with the same people in terms of accommodation and activities, which can make your trip easier. You can also book everything directly via Lofoten Bed & Breakfast’s booking page.
